Packing is the part of a move that eats up evenings for a month. Handing it to a crew that does it daily turns that month into a day or two.

Why boxes take longer than the truck

A trained two person team can box a full kitchen in a few hours. The same kitchen usually takes a homeowner most of a weekend, because every drawer turns into a decision about what to keep.

Our packers do not stop to sort through old mail. They wrap, box, label, and move to the next room, and the boxes they build are uniform so the truck loads tighter and the crew moves faster on move day.

Materials matter more than people think

Dish barrels with cell dividers, wardrobe boxes, picture cartons, and real packing paper are not extras. They are the reason a professionally packed box of glassware survives a bumpy ride down 183 or Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Grocery store boxes soften in humidity and collapse when stacked. In a trailer that has been sitting in Texas sun for a few hours, that becomes a real problem fast.

Full packing versus partial

Full packing means the crew comes the day before, or the morning of for a smaller place, and works room by room until the house is boxed and ready to carry.

A lot of Cedar Park families choose a middle path instead: they pack their own books and linens and hand us the kitchen, the china, and anything fragile. Tell us which rooms to cover and the quote follows that split.

You are always free to set aside anything you want to carry yourself, like documents or jewelry, during the walk through before packing starts.

Unpacking at the new place

Unpacking means the crew empties boxes onto counters and into closets, reassembles beds and tables, and hauls the flattened cardboard away with them when they leave.

For a family starting a new job or new school the next morning, this is often the part people say they valued most.

Electronics, plants, and anything heat sensitive

Televisions and computers are photographed before the cables come out, wrapped, and boxed with the cords bagged and labeled by device. Candles, houseplants, and anything that melts get packed separately and loaded last.

On a summer move we will point out exactly which boxes are better off riding in your own air conditioned car rather than the trailer.
